Easy Easy Baked Beans

Ingredients:

2 15 oz cans pinto beans (I cooked some up in my instant pot)
1 clove garlic
1 cup tomato sauce
1/2 apple cider vinegar
3 Tbls Worcestershire sauce
2 Tbls pure maple syrup
2 Tbls blackstrap molasses
3 Tbls prepared mustard
Freshly ground pepper

Instuctions:

Saute the onion in a large saucepan over medium heat, stirring occasionally for 7-8 min until they start to turn brown and translucent.  Add water 1-2 Tbls at a time as needed to keep the onions from sticking to th epan.  Add the garlic and cook for 1 minute more.

Stir in the tomato sauce, vinegar, Worcestershire
sauce, maple syrup, molasses, mustard, pepper to taste, and 1 cup of water, and bring to a boil over high heat.  Reduce the heat to low and simmer, stirring often to prevent scorching, for about 45 minutes until thickened.  Taste and adjust the seasoning.  If desired, transfer the sauce to a blender and puree until smooth or use an immersion blender.

Preheat the oven to 325 degrees

Combine the pinto beans and the barbecue sauce in a large bowl, and mix well.  Transfer the beans to an 8 x 8 casserole dish.

Bake uncovered for 1 hours.  Let stand for 5 minutes before serving.

Great to take to a BBQ, and can be eaten hot or cold.
